Up early

Yesterday I got up before dawn to see the sunrise and have a poke around Fort Saumarez which is on the northern tip of our L’Eree Bay. The near full moon ensured I walked down to the beach in good light and enjoyed seeing it cast its light on the breaking waves – stunning. Hard for me to capture with my limited skills, no tripod etc but fun nevertheless.

There are German dug outs around the fort which I explored:

I’m guessing there was a gun in here at one point.

On the way home there was a lovely sunrise over the eastern horizon – didn’t feel the world needs another sunrise photo but couldn’t resist when I saw this bunting.
