I’m chuffed that my submission to this new festival has been accepted.
I thought quite hard about which image to submit and decided on this one as something a bit different. My main focus is portraiture rather than landscapes or architecture but I like this image, created whilst in Valencia in January.
It’s simply a wall of the MuVim musuem with a cast shadow of a tall palm tree. Nothing special really but it was when I re-edited it, after seeing the work of photographer Franco Fontana, that I discovered it had more potential than I initially thought. I like it because it reflects what I love about Spain – bright light, warmth, colours (especially when escaping a gloomy Yorkshire winter).
The festival will launch on Saturday 20th June and run over the summer with a whole host of exhibitions, talks, screenings, workshops and activities. The open call exhibition will be displayed prominently around the market towns of Malton and Norton in shop and business windows and inside the main exhibition venue.
