Inspired by Franco Fontana

I’d come across the work of the legendary Italian photographer before but it was reading a review of his latest, and life’s work, exhibition that generated an idea.

First of all though, if you are reading this and are unacquainted with Franco Fontana, watch this:

So having just returned from two months in Spain, far from the grey gloom of North Yorkshire, I thought why not review those images to see if there are any that have the potential to push the sliders a bit? As Todd Hido says ‘photograph as a photographer, edit as an artist‘ – in the style of Fontana!

It’s been great fun and, as a result I looked at not only my Spanish photos, but delved into my hard drives to see what else might have potential. As usual with these little projects I’ll produce a coffee table book, courtesy of Whitewall. Not that expensive and impressive quality too.
