I was invited last night to make some images of York Musical Theatre Company’s latest show, Calendar Girls, as they ran through their final technical rehearsal at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre. First night tonight, running through to Saturday. (BOOK TICKETS)
I’d captured some shots early on in the rehearsals so it was great to see how much progress they’d made and that they were certainly ready for their first audience!
I must have taken 300+ shots but whittled that down to just over 100 edits that the company received from me at around lunch time today. Lighting is always a challenge when shooting a live theatre show. It changes constantly to suit the action and, of course, the actors are moving too, so super sharp images, taken from the front row are an impossibility!
However, I hope I’ve managed to capture sufficient images to help with their publicity and for the actors to enjoy sharing as they wish.
