Just down the road from Ravenswick Hall is a little hamlet of around a half dozen properties bisected by the River Dove. There’s a pedestrian bridge but vehicles have to cross the ford. At this time of the year I doubt, even with a 4×4, that anyone would attempt but in the summer it’s certainly traversed. When I went yesterday it was mid-morning and being in a dip it was quite dark, in the shadows of the surrounding wooded hills. I decided to leave photographing the cottages for another time and just concentrated on the bridge and river.
