I really enjoy photography and relish having a go at almost anything but wedding photography is one I steer clear of.
The pressure of getting it right, the formalities, skills required and, I must admit, my belief that far too much money is spent on them, will keep me from entering that world.
However, that being said when a friend of my daughter invited us to her reception I did volunteer my services to capture some moments and make them into a small book as a wedding gift (Blurb – of course!)
My offer was accepted as they had not arranged anyone else and they were pleased to have the opportunity to have a record of their special day.
The reception was held at the Helmsley Arts Centre where both Amy and Joe had appeared in productions of the local drama company, The 1812 Theatre Group. Both the auditorium and the cafe were used – it was a lovely occasion. Here are a few of the photographs I took.
