Staying in an Art Studio

We’ve taken a mini break and thanks to a fellow IG photographer we’ve come to the Pump House Art Studio in Misterton. Kerry had taken some lovely pictures of the studio from the outside whilst on a walk and we decided to check it out. We found it was on Sykes Cottages and it looked fabulous so we booked a four night stay.

We think we’re one of the first visitors. Everything is brand new and the whole place is just gorgeous – Nic and Claire who own it and live next door in the sister pump house, come from a design/ interiors background and it shows.

Lovely big windows let in loads of dappled light.

Arched kitchen window – we may see the resident Kingfisher but not so far …

The lovely watery walks are varied with lots of birds swooping around our heads. We’ve seen a barn owl, osprey and the first swallows!

We’re very close to Drax power station so there’s lots of electricity pylons marching across the fields.

Some more shots from inside the studio – motifs really:

Discovered on the balcony some boxes of paints (I think I accidentally clicked a filter of some kind on the camera so these are not as sharp as I would have liked):

Might re-do these.

Some from an early morning walk along the river.
