My daughter Sara was due into York Station at 7.20pm on Saturday so after chores at Sainsbury’s and Monks Cross I parked at the Railway Station and had an hour.
First, head down to the river walk. There had been quite a bit of rain in the last 24 hours but now it was quite sunny. I saw a large puddle on the tow path and took a reflective shot.

I should have straightened that up a bit before posting it on Instagram but it had a few immediate likes. I did a similar shot with an abandoned bike.

There were a few more river related shots that didn’t work quite as well and then I headed into the centre. It was very busy with crowds gathering in outdoor bars for the England game against Ukraine kicking off at 8.00pm.

I would have liked more time as there were so many people about and I was feeling more confident with the Ricoh than I had with my less discrete Canon.
I tried some shots using a mirror in a shop window – a hen party was walking past but didn’t really work.
A gentleman in a cafe window caught my eye and shot this one from the hip (well a tad higher, but without composing).

And that was about it, my hour was up but note to self to return, again on a late Saturday afternoon, and spend the evening walking the streets of York – there’s loads of potential.
