I’d bought an iPad 2, probably ten years ago but when it eventually died it wasn’t replaced. We didn’t really miss it as everyone in the family ended up owning their own cheapish laptops for school and work but recently I had a craving for another. The reason – Instagram.
As I began to focus more on photography and re-invigorating my Instagram account I got a little frustrated scrolling images using my iPhone 7. They didn’t begin to do justice to the fabulous collections of the people I was starting to follow and learn from. So time for another tablet.
No one else at home had any particular desire for one so I couldn’t justify another iPad at £4-500 so instead plumped for the Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet | 10.1″ 1080p Full HD display, 32 GB, Black at £150 and I’m delighted with it.
I don’t really use it for anything more than internet browsing and Instagram but I have put on various apps such as Prime, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds.
A slight negative when opening the tablet is you are faced with Amazon ads but a quick swipe gets rid of them and you’re on your home screen. You can pay extra and not have these but it’s not a big deal.
The screen quality is excellent and makes scrolling Instagram a far superior experience than my iPhone. Another plus point is battery usage which seems to last for days between charges. So for the money a great investment I’d highly recommend.
