After dropping a friend off at the railway station I had a bit of time before meeting up with Rachel at City Screen to watch Licorice Pizza.
I mooched around the town centre for a bit before heading down a few steps next to Lendal Bridge to the riverside. The light was amazing and so I thought I’d change the filter setting to monotone and play around with shadows and silouettes.
On the screen what I was taking looked pretty good, though the light was so bright it was often hard to see. However, when I got back home and looked at them on the pc I was disappointed. These are the best of a poor bunch.
Reflecting on what went wrong I think I was over excited by the starkness of the black and white contrast and neglected composition. I took a lot of shots in a short amount of time and should have spent more time planning and waiting for the right scene to develop.
