It’s mid August and the moorland heather is at its purple best. We found ourselves in the vicinity of Ana’s Cross last night on a quest to return a pair of lost spectacles (long story …), so while Rach was sorting that I tried different angles to try and capture the monument in an interesting way. The sun was just going down so the light was tricky but here are my attempts.

I think this one is perhaps the most successful.

The battery on the Ricoh died shortly after this and I wasn’t carrying a spare so took to my phone. Not the same though so after a short time I called it a day and wandered back to the car enjoying the view as the sun dipped down below the horizon.
