My father in law’s wife Kirsten visited today to have some portraits made with the hope that one would be alright as a Christmas present for each of her children.

This was the first time I’d used the newly created space, and it had been several months since I’d done a studio session, so both of us were a tad nervous. Kirsten was not keen on being in front of the camera but she was an absolute natural and we both enjoyed ourselves.

Below are a small selection of shots with the final one being her choice for her children.

Just to set the shoot in context – moved the rug after this. Still working with very basic lighting!
I like this warmish colour rather than black and white
