As part of their thirty year anniversary, Helmsley Arts Centre director Natasha Jones asked if I could create 30 portraits of people who are currently involved in some capacity. That includes staff, trustees and volunteers. I was delighted to accept the opportunity – more chance to practice!
Tash just wanted a plain black background for all for the eventual display she’s going to put on at the centre so, over a number of sessions, I’m working through them. It’s been a lovely experience as I know most of the individuals having been involved in the centre of the years – good opportunity for a catch up.
Tash wanted colour but here, for my own indulgence, I’m posting black and white. I’ve also chosen examples that I like but which will probably not be used for the project.
More to come …
